We started PhoneGal because every contractor we knew was leaking money the same way: through missed phone calls. The shape of the problem, plainly:
| What happens | Industry estimate |
|---|---|
| Missed calls that never call back | ~85% |
| Average value of a missed home-services call | $300 – $1,200 |
| Annual loss for a small contractor | $45K – $120K |
This blog is where we'll show our work. Three kinds of posts, mostly:
What we're shipping
Product updates — when the gal learns a new trick, or when an integration goes live. Short, factual, with screenshots when they help.
What we're learning
We listen to a lot of call transcripts. Patterns show up. Surprising ones. Boring ones that explain ten thousand dollars of missed revenue. We'll share what's worth sharing, anonymized to the company name.
The math
The "missed call problem" is real but most of the numbers thrown around are sloppy. We'll show our work when we cite a stat — sources linked, math explained.
If you want to be among the first to read each post, you can reach out and we'll add you to a small list.
In the meantime: if your phone has rung today and you weren't there to answer, the gal was probably the right call.
